Cosenza è stata nominata, su candidatura del CSV Cosenza, Capitale italiana del volontariato 2023, titolo assegnato da CSVnet – Associazione centri di servizio per il volontariato con il patrocinio di ANCI – Associazione Nazionale Comuni Italiani.
La notizia è stata diffusa in maniera ufficiale durante l’evento di chiusura di Bergamo Capitale che si è svolto lo scorso 5 dicembre al quale ha partecipato, in diretta streaming, anche il presidente del CSV Cosenza, Gianni Romeo.
“Abbiamo la responsabilità di essere innovativi, di interpretare un ruolo e un compito completamente da inventare tenendo però presenti i nostri punti di riferimento: la gratuità, la solidarietà, il dono, il lavoro sui territori e sulle periferie – ha dichiarato Romeo visibilmente emozionato – stiamo lavorando ad un programma di massima, ad un processo partecipativo da attuare con le associazioni e il mondo del terzo settore, ma anche con le istituzioni per rendere questo anno patrimonio di tutti”.
Il 2023 sarà un anno utile per dare visibilità al lavoro del terzo settore e al nostro territorio. A Cosenza e provincia operano circa 1200 associazioni e oltre 10mila volontari che diffondono la cultura del volontariato e che, negli ultimi anni, grazie a progetti e iniziative solidali, hanno prodotto cambiamenti importanti. Il Terzo Settore ha co-finanziato il welfare territoriale con l’acquisizione di risorse e l’apporto di professionalità che hanno contribuito alla crescita della comunità e al benessere dei cittadini. Il volontariato cosentino ha contribuito alla formazione dei giovani dando spazio ai loro talenti e facendogli sperimentare forme di rappresentanza. Cosenza Capitale sarà l’occasione per far conoscere le realtà sociali della provincia e per invitare la cittadinanza a sentirsi parte di questo mondo.
